Stephen Hawking was born on January 8th, 1942 in Oxford, England. Stephen Hawking did not want to be a science major, but instead he wanted to major in mathematics. Unfortunately, it was not available at his university college he attended. So instead, Hawking took up physics and this is where his works started. Stephen Hawking has attended and worked at many colleges, and he also took the position of Lucasian Professor of Mathematics. The position he took was previously held by Isaac Newton. Stephen Hawking has been a major inspiration to theoretical physicists and has contributed immensely to physics. Hawking has reviewed Einstein's theories and found out that black holes do exist and that Einstein's theory of relativity had a role in the big bang. One of Stephens most influential spark in theoretical physics is his Theory of Everything which would have given us an answer to why and how the universe started and works. Come to find out Hawking gave up on this theory 30 years later. Stephen Hawking has won countless medals and awards, but the surprisingly he has a motor neuron disease which makes him unable to use his body except his fingers and his brain. This disorder hasn't seemed to slow him down at all since in physics the work is mostly all with your brain. Stephen Hawking has made over a dozen books and several lectures on all his main theories and discoveries in science. Below are some links which I found interesting and you can find almost everything about Stephen Hawking himself, and his works in them.


Stephen Hawking's History & Lectures

Once you visit this site, the first thing you are brought to is a brief history of Stephen Hawking and his accomplishments. If you fumble through the tabs on the site, you will find much more about
Stephen Hawking. This website gives you a Q&A certain subjects and also his view on his motor neuron disease which seems to not have affected him much in his successful life. Also, you will be able to read all his lectures that he proposed and gave on his science research. This site is easy to access and use, but the reading of his lectures are quite dense with physics and his theories, so be prepared if you want to take that challenge on. The accuracy of this site is 100 percent correct, because the authors of this site were assistants to Stephen Hawking and much of the information about his life is given by Hawking himself and all the lectures he obviously wrote.

Stephen Hawking's Time Machine
This site gives an article about the idea of time traveling which was brought up first by Einstein, but Stephen Hawking goes in depth about the ways of time travel. Hawking explains how time is the 4th dimension and how it plays out in the universe. Also he explains why time travel is actually possible and how it is possible in easier terms than just a pure physic lesson. He also explains why one idea of time travel may be impossible due to paradoxes. This site is easy to use, mostly because its only one article, but the bright side is that it's very understandable. Hawking uses analogies to help the reader better understand his concepts of time travel. This site is fairly updated the article was written in May of 2010, and is very accurate.

Stephen Hawking's Books
This website is all about Hawking's collection of books he wrote throughout his life. This website gives you all the books he has written and a summary of each book along with who would be interested in these types of books. The site is very easy to use, it has tabs where you can find categories of what type of book you want to read, and this site is very up to date, according to that the last book added was on June 23rd which was Hawking's most recent book published. This site is for all ages. I would recommend this site to anyone and everyone.

Hawking's (TOE) Theory of Everything Ends
This site is about Stephens Theory of Everything he thought of 30 years ago, that would explain the universe and everything in it by physics and mathematics. Last year he finally admitted that there is no Theory of Everything and he explains what the theory was all based on. When reading this article you might have some issue's with some vocabulary, but you can always look them up on the internet for clarification. This site is aimed at more radical thinkers of science because it does go in depth about certain theories which some may not know about. This is also fairly new since it was published last year.

This site is 10 questions all compiled from different times that were asked to Hawking. I think this site is useful because it shows Hawking's personality and sense of humor along with his intelligence. You can learn what you may of wondered all along because these questions are popular questions that are asked everyday to Stephen. This site is for all ages, and the comprehension is clear. The accuracy is as good as it gets, the answers are from Stephen Hawking himself.

To better understand the disease that Stephen Hawking suffers from, this site explains what the disease is. The site also contains tabs on the left which go into more detail on symptoms, diagnosis, facts needed to know, forms of ALS, genetic testing, and stories of families living with ALS. It is very informational to whoever is reading. It is assumed to be written for people who are either caregiving ALS patients or ALS patients.

This is an article that explains the computer-based communication system Hawking has been using since 1997. It explains the exact model and configuration of the computer. This article exemplifies the computer-scientific break through to help Hawking speak out his brilliant ideas.
